Be Yourself

You ever catch yourself wondering,
“Am I doing this for them… or for God?”

That’s what Galatians 1:10 hits me with.
It’s like Paul is saying,
“If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
Ouch. But it’s true.

See, when I say I want to be “myself,” I don’t mean the version of me that’s shaped by what others think, expect, or need from me.
I mean really being myself—unfiltered, unafraid, and anchored in something deeper than opinions.

I want to live simply. Purely.
Not constantly adjusting my heart to fit someone else’s comfort zone.
I won’t let criticism crush me, and I won’t let compliments control me.
I want to be okay with who I am—okay with the wisdom and skills God gave me.
I want to be proud of the work I do, even if it’s quiet. Even if it’s not seen.
I don’t need to be “better.”
Because God doesn’t do copy-paste. He gave everyone different gifts on purpose—and He doesn’t make mistakes.

I don’t want to live for money either.
Honestly? Money helps, yes. But it doesn’t define me.
Real wealth is being content and walking closely with God (1 Timothy 6:6).
I wasn’t made to chase success like it’s the answer.
And I definitely wasn’t made to use people as stepping stones.
We came into this life empty-handed. We’ll leave the same way.
So if I’ve got enough to eat and a warm place to sleep… I’m good.

And here’s the thing—I’m not here to follow rules for the sake of rules.
I’m not chasing religion.
Jesus didn’t show up to slap a list of do’s and don’ts in my hand.
He came to love me back to life.
To open my eyes.
To break my chains.
To carry what I couldn’t carry.
To give me His heart, His strength, His everything.

So no, I don’t believe in a religion.
I believe in Jesus—because He believed in me first.

That’s what it means for me to “be myself.”
Not the version the world wants.
But the one God dreamed up.
The one He loved before I even knew how to love Him back.

And honestly? That version… is finally enough.
